iBeam turns Pod into Flashlight

Here's a gift for your favorite iPod owner ('cuz they probably won't get it for themselves): Griffin's iBeam, the flashlight/laser pointer adapter for your iPod.

This looks almost as silly as the April Fools joke known as the PodShave, but I believe the iBeam is a legitimate product.

Just attach the iBeam to your recent-model iPod or iPod Mini and it begins emitting photons (it draws power from your iPod battery, of course).

Patrick Norton has written an in-depth review (is that possible?) of the iBeam over at ExtremeiPod, and he points out it's one terrible shortcoming: You can't listen to music and find your way out of the woods at the same time.

The iBeam retails for $19.99, but you can get it at Amazon for just $11.99.
